Can you help our children get to school?

Home to School Transport

Contracts are becoming available for Home to School Transport providers right across Lincolnshire. If you want to be part of the service, then you need to act now.

We help almost 20,000 students get to school every day through our provision of Home to School Transport. It’s a major service for children who need specific transport throughout the school year.

To maintain that service, we are now looking for transport providers to fulfil short and long-term contracts. Contracts are becoming available soon and we want everyone who is interested to get in touch with us through the right channels.

If you’re a registered supplier on the procurement portal for school provision, then you don’t have to do anything else further about your inclusion.

If you own a business with the following types of vehicle, then you may be eligible as a provider:

  • Buses
  • Coaches
  • Minibuses
  • 7 / 8 seater cars / derived vans (with taxi licensing)
  • Cars (with taxi licensing)
  • Wheelchair accessible vehicles

With Home to School Transport, there are some cases where Passenger Assistants are required to meet the specific needs of individual students. Naturally, this type of specific need for some of the contracts may cause potential providers to have questions. If that’s the case, or if there’s anything more that potential providers want to know about Home to School Transport provision, then we are happy to answer anything you might want to know about any part of the transport provision in this sector. You can get in touch with us by emailing TSG@lincolnshire.gov.uk

Both short and long-term contracts are available. This is because of the changing needs of the children using Home to School Transport provision, and our regular reviews of the network provided.

If you think you could become an approved operator, or if you just want to find out more information about being a Home to School Transport operator, go to: Approved operators for passenger transport.
