Additional works required at A153 in Raithby cum Maltby

A road closed sign.

Minor repairs will be carried out for up to three evenings this month.

Jonathan Evans, Head of Highways Client, said: “We always carry out tests to ensure newly-laid road surfacing meets the high standards we expect.

“Unfortunately, some of the surface course material laid last year at on the A153 in Raithby cum Maltby hasn’t met our stringent quality requirements.

“As a result, the contractor will be replacing this surfacing as part of our contract with them, at their own cost.”

The works will start on Tuesday 22 April for up to three evenings. As part of this, the A153 Horncastle Road (between the two warning signs for the double bend, including the bell mouth of Raithby Road), will be closed from 7pm to 6am.

The diversion routes for the works will be via A153 / A158 / A16 / A153, and vice versa.

Jonathan continued: “Repairing these defects now will not only save the council money and time in the future, but it will prevent further disruption at this crossing down the line.

“Because these works will inevitably cause some disruption, I want to thank everyone in advance for bearing with us.”
